As a self-taught photo-based artist, I incorporate the eccentricities in my medium, Polaroid film, as I explore the self-representation of my subjects and the effect on how others perceive them. I assemble the individual images into photo mosaics that stretch beyond the constraints of the Polaroid’s smallish film frame. Through my process, I examine the relationship between identity, the inclusive/exclusive nature of the photographic frame boundary, and the two-way interaction between the observed and the observer.
With my continuing art practice, I strive to create a form of performative portraiture that challenges the conventional concepts of photographic representation and the perception of identity.
Born in Argentina, I currently reside in Westchester County, New York, via a life that has spanned from Buenos Aires to New York City.
